Metabolism
TOP TIP 1: Something as simple as drinking green tea has the potential to increase your rate of weight loss. It is thought that green tea revs up your
metabolism, increasing body fat loss. Green tea is also great for relaxing after a vigorous work out.
TOP TIP 2: Also think about what you put into your body in the evening. Your body's metabolism slows at night, and eating 2-3 hours before going to bed
just a few nights a week can contribute to weight gain. If you feel hungry before bed, try to drink a full glass of water to fill yourself up.
TOP TIP 3: Water is an essential element when thinking about weight loss. Oftentimes your intestines can become sluggish when we are dehydrated, which
can cause a slower metabolism. Drinking water in excess of 8oz servings per day can help your body to run more efficiently and help cleanse and detox your
system.
TOP TIP 4: Eating small meals throughout the day is a great way to loss weight more quickly. When you eat many small meals, your body's metabolism
usually kicks into overdrive, burning calories and fat at a higher rate. It is also likely to help curb cravings for unhealthy foods and make you feel full more of
the time.
TOP TIP 5: Enjoy a little spice in your life to help support your metabolism and lose weight! Capsicum is thought to help keep your body burning fat, so chop
some up and include them in your breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Cook a spicy chilli full of healthy beans for your meal tonight and get a hit of protein at the
same time!
TOP TIP 6: Another effective weight loss tip is to make sure you eat a significant portion of protein upon waking each morning. Adding protein to your
breakfast routine, can substantially boost your metabolism and keep you feeling full until lunchtime.
“Slow and steady wins the race”
When it comes to healthy and successful weight loss, slow and steady wins the race. If you try to cut calories too drastically in the beginning, you may have an
initial weight loss, but the long-term effects will not be good (or healthy). Your body can go into starvation mode, and your metabolism will slow down, which
will ultimately make losing weight even harder.
Similarly, never underestimate the value of a regular exercise routine and the effect that it can have on your metabolism. Many people look for reasons why
exercise is not necessary and think that they can lose the weight they want with just dieting. Exercise not only helps burn calories while you are doing it, it
raises your overall metabolism so calories burn faster even while you are sitting still or sleeping. Double your weight loss benefits with a regular exercise
routine!
Little and often
If you are attempting to lose weight, do not space your consumption of food far apart. It is best to eat low calorie snacks between meals to keep your
metabolism up, so food calories are burned off rather than stored as body fat. Also, whenever you don't eat for hours at a time, your blood sugar level
plummets which causes you to eat in excess the next time you consume food - in other words, you are far more likely to binge!
If you were intimidated about losing weight because you didn't know what to do and didn’t understand how your metabolism could affect weight loss, now you
know the basics! The hardest part about losing weight is setting up a system and sticking with it. Now that you can set up a weight loss system, you're ready
to start losing weight and feeling better.
